Zombie Nation....Part 2
Are we all zombies?
So in part 1 I explained a little about what gave me to write this article, it explained how every morning and evening a lot of the people I come in to contact with on the way two and from work ,seemed to be missing some motivation, nourishment and generally looking a little zombified!?
I came to conclusion it must have been one or more lifestyle components of a healthy body…….
A brief recap would be noticing the:

London Personal Trainer on: Step 5 to a Better Existence
Alright. This is it; the Final Step to a Better Existence. In case you haven't seen the other posts, I'll recap. Step 1: Work Less. Step 2: Fuel Your Body. Step 3: Use Your Body. Step 4: Expand Your Mind.
Step 5: Contribute
I thought a lot about what Step 5 should be. I debated focusing on the spiritual - for most people spirituality is a crucial component in the building of a better life. But I’ve opted to consider spirituality

London Personal Trainer Asks Are you a Slapper?
With the approaching London Marathon, I am starting to see a lot more runners out there doing their training runs. Interestingly enough I have seen a few “Slappers” as well.
What is a “Slapper”? You may ask. This is someone who runs incorrectly and makes a slapping sound as their feet hit the ground. They don’t lower their feet under control after heel strike.
I will mention

London Personal Trainer | Are You Grasping At Water?
I don’t know where I first came across the concept of grasping water.
It may have been a story, a cheesy martial arts movie, listening to a speaker or maybe just a figment of my overactive imagination. I really can't remember the source, though I remember the meaning of the story for sure, especially at those times when I feel that I'm working so hard, SO HARD, and that life, the universe and everything seems to be conspiring

London Personal Trainer / High Heels and your Health
Now, I like to dress up for an evening out as much as the next girl. But I have a love/hate relationship with my high heels.
When I worked in an office environment, I wore heels almost constantly, rushing around from meeting to meeting and lugging a heavy bag around. I started to become immune to the aches, pains and cramps in my feet, and the tiredness in my legs. These days I spend as much time as possible bare foot. But on a special night out, I like to doll up, and the outfit is only

London Personal Trainer | Chunky To Hunky Day 50
Man, I can't believe I'm 50 day in now, it's flying by!
The last week has been good, eating clean, training decently (though only 3 workouts so far this week, will get another in today) and I'm still seeing and feeling the benefit to staying clean.
My sleep's still not great so I'm certain that's costing me some results, but all in all I'm happy at 11.4kg weight loss and a LOT of fat gone. My waist is 4 1/2inch smaller too.

We’ve reached the penultimate Step to a Better Existence. To date we’ve looked at ways to facilitate working less, ways to fuel your body and ways to use your body; on to step four.
Step 4: Expand your Mind
There are a couple of pieces to this one – there’s the physical growth of the brain itself; the development of new neurons. Then there’s the metaphorical expansion – going beyond our ‘known’; learning to see

Zombie Nation..... Part 1
Are We all Zombies?
While I was on my usual route to work yesterday I pushed through the rammed tube queue and managed to squeeze on the over congested tube. As anyone that has been on a rush hour tube will testify it’s not the most pleasant of travels and it’s quite honestly a stressful experience.
Squashed in like a sardine I started to notice the sheer amount of half dead looking people. I started to count the amount of people that were half asleep,

London Personal Trainer / Cold Cure or more? Vitamin C
It’s that time of year... the common cold is far too common. Last year I didn’t even get a sniff (pardon the pun) of a cold, yet I was exposed to so many with clients, colleagues and friends. One of the reasons I can probably thank for that is my Vitamin C intake. When presented with cold symptoms, a lot of people start to dose them-selves with Vitamin C, but that’s a bit like the old analogy of bolting the stable door when the horse has already bolted. It is poor levels of Vitamin C

I've been getting a lot of questions about my tattoo since I've been regularly stripping for my Chunky to Hunky videos so I thought I'd just share a little information about it here in one place so that people can find it easily if they want to.
The short version is that it's all about the journey to Enlightenment.
The longer version is that it's based largely on a South Pacific idea that a man should go to his rest at the end of his life with his

Hey, just a quick update this time.
No video, but I thought I'd add a couple of pics of my progress here on day 46.
I'm still FAR from lean but compared to 46 days ago I reckon I'm in a COMPLETELY different place, no?
Still chunky for sure but no longer fat. In fact, I've lost over 4 1/2 inches from my waist.
Look at THIS picture on Day 1 after 12 weeks of 'normal' eating. You can see jut how bloated and heavy and out

This is week 3 of the ‘5 Steps to a Better Existence’ series. So far I’ve suggested Work Less (Step 1), and Fuel Your Body (Step 2). On to Step 3.
Step 3: Use Your Body
Like any machine, the longer a body sits unused, the more unusable it becomes. It requires regular maintenance (tying into steps 1 & 2) and use. In the continued spirit of overplayed adages, ‘use it or lose it!’ And the more it’s used, the more fun

London Personal Trainer | The lost art of movement
We’ve lost the ability to move people! I know that sounds kind of crazy but it’s true.
I was inspired to write this piece after running one of our group classes here at our personal training studios in London one lunchtime. It hit me at one point when I was observing some of the attendees how we've lost the ability to move.
Although it is my role to demonstrate, and then observe the movements correctly and safely it

Chances are it was dark and drizzling when your alarm went off on Monday morning. Dark and drizzling as you traveled to work, dark and drizzling as you entered your place of employ. Perhaps it had stopped drizzling by the time you went to lunch, but it was dim, cloudy and generally dreary. And by the time you headed home it was dark once again. Yes, it’s the end of November which means for a lot of us it’s the end of feeling generally
