The four lies you'll tell yourself on New Years Eve part 1

Have you ever noticed how many good, honest, hardworking people turn into liars at New Year?

It's an amazing thing to watch as people from all walks of life, all ages and both sexes, go through the whole New Year’s resolution ‘thing’ and tell themselves lies about what the next 12 months will bring them.

You see, at this time of year many, many people go through the whole New Year’s resolution ‘thing’ and, let’s be honest, tell themselves lies about what the next 12 months will bring them.

You know what I mean.

11.59pm on New Year’s Eve you turn to a loved one and say “This year is going to be different. I’m really going to achieve some great things!” and for that one minute, that one moment in time, you mean it. You REALLY mean it!

You are fired up, raring to go and ready, willing and (despite the glass of champagne in your hand) able to commit to that new diet, getting that payrise or new job, starting that company, writing that book and a whole host of other great sounding things.

Then the bells ring in the New Year and a funny thing happens.

January 1st rolls around and, whilst the goals are still in your head, they don’t seem as important anymore. (maybe it’s the champagne?)

January 2nd comes and by lunchtime you’re telling yourself that some of your goals are ‘just silly fantasies’ and you scratch them off your list.

January 3rd arrives and, despite a much shorter list than you had just 2 days before, you start to tell yourself that “I’ve got all year to do this. I don’t have to start right now. Let me just ‘settle in’ to the year first and ‘get myself sorted’ and THEN I’ll work on my goals”

Like I said, all lies!

In fact, there are FOUR of them…

Lie number one: ‘This year is going to be different’

The truth of the matter is, for most people, sad though it is, 2007 is going to be EXACTLY the same as 2006 was.

Why?

Because their strategy is EXACTLY the same as it was last year and, as the saying goes, if you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.

Lie number two: ‘The goals don’t seem as important anymore’

Yes they are! They’re just as important as they were 24 hours ago it’s just that somewhere deep down you’ve started to persuade yourself that your goals are somehow unachievable and, if the truth be known, you’re scared about failing so instead you lie about their importance.

Lie number three: ‘They’re just silly fantasies’

This is a continuation of lie number two but much more harmful. With this lie you’ve started to rationalise and justify why your goals are impossible and use all kinds of excuses disguised as ‘reasons’ as to why your goals are unrealistic… the biggest lie of all!

Lie number four: ‘I’ll settle in and get sorted’

What a great lie!

This is an ‘I’m not giving up, I just need to get back into the flow at work or school before I attack these goals’ kind of lie that you use to delay things until the time is right.

But wait a minute…

Wasn’t work, school or your other favourite excuse the reason why you couldn’t achieve your goals before New Year?

No, lie number four is simply a delay tactic, that ‘one day’ lie that we all tell ourselves in order to get out of taking action when we know we could, when we know we should. You know, ‘one day when I have more time…’ or ‘one day when I have more money…’ (or whatever else you use to delay your goals).

Regardless of your ‘one day’ excuse, the results are the same… zero!

New Elimination Diet Samples Gone Mad!!

I've been writing my elimination diet newsletter for nearly 18 months now and in that time it has grown to well over 10,000 subscribers from all around the world.

Yet, sitting in your office as you write, you tend to forget that these 10,000 are actually out there, lurking : ), waiting for something new, something unusual, something that that can use to get serious results fast.

Well, I had a not-so-gentle reminder of that this morning when I woke to find over 3 and a half THOUSAND emails in my inbox asking me, begging me, pleading (actually some were quite threatening) to be given my 5 day meal planner.

It was nuts! This is simply a free download that I'd offered to my readers, nothing to go into a feeding frenzy (excuse the pun) over!

Now, don't get me wrong, as a professional personal trainer, I'm always pleased when people contact me about one of my services but 3,500 people for a free download??

I was puzzled...

Then it hit me!

Christmas and New Year have already taken their toll.

People have gotten fat, gained weight and slobbed out for most of December and now, with New Year fast approaching, they're desperate to lose fat, get fit and 'tone up' (whatever that means) and they'll do ANYTHING to get nutrition, diet and exercise advice... as long as it works!

The only trouble is, the big diet and supplement companies know this and they're more than willing to take advantage and squeeze as much money out of the unsuspecting public as possible for useless crap that simply doesn't work.

That's why I was very pleased to get an email from my good friend Craig Ballantyne over at Mens Health Magazine this afternoon.

Apparently, his Best-Selling Turbulence Training Exercise and Nutrition Manual is in the last 24 hours of a seriously amazing Christmas sale that promises to over-deliver on a grand scale.

Craig has packed a bumper load of extra bonuses into an already excellent product and has really outdone himself with exercise plan, nutrition plans and the very latest in cutting-edge training to burn serious bodyfat.

I won't tell you more about it here or you'll think I'm doing a sales job on you but understand this; In my entire career I have never gone out of my way to recommend a product from another personal trainer, yet I do so more than happily and in the full knowledge that Craig's Turbulence Training will deliver the good.

Personal Training Sucks!

I had an email from a woman today (we'll call her Irene) who emailed me in a last-ditch effort to actually help her achieve some serious weight loss, fat loss and in order to help her get over a few serious medical conditions that have been plaguing her for the last 15 years.

Irene told me that over the last 7 of those years she has worked with no fewer than 11 personal trainers!

Now, I've got to admit, when a client tells me that they've worked with more than a few trainers my internal alarms start ringing 'are they trouble?' , 'will they commit?' and all kinds of things.

You see, my own clients are with me on average for 4-6 years so I don't really understand it when someone says they change around a lot.

Well, Irene told me why.

"Each and every one of my trainers made great promises about what I'd get from training with them. They charged me a lot of money up front and spoke to me about commitment and results. It all sounded great. Just what I was looking for.

Everything would work out well for 4 weeks or so, then the results would dry up and they'd lose interest in me.

They'd make me feel like my lack of results was my fault!

"Then she told me "I've come to the opinion that personal training sucks".

The thing is, though I wanted to stick up for my profession, I had to agree that, yes, most of the time the service that you get from a personal trainer really does suck!

There, I said it!

Most of the time there is no real assessment.

Most of the time there is no real understanding of what goes into winning the battle in the mind (the hardest bit)

Most of the time there's a total insistence on doing everything the hard way and even the WRONG way for the client.

Most of the time the client gets a restrictive nutrition program that cuts too many calories instead of a SUPPORTIVE nutrition program that helps the body to improve.

Most of the time the meaning of the word 'client' is forgotten and instead 'customer' is used to describe the same thing.

(a client is one who is under the care of another whilst a customer is one who enters into a transaction)

Most of the time, when the client fails to get results, the trainer blames THEM instead of taking responsibility.

Most of the time personal training and personal trainers suck!!

BUT NOT ALL OF THE TIME!

There are some fantastic people out there who will not only provide good service but even GUARANTEE RESULTS in specific time frames.

Some will even charge you one price for the results... regardless of the time taken.

The real trick is finding them right?

Check in tomorrow and I'll tell you how.

Can 4 Minute Workouts Work?

I've been doing a lot of work here in the UK recently to develop my new MELTDOWN Programme which is designed to create rapid fat loss whilst at the same time building firm, strong muscles (no, NOT bodybuilding).

The workouts have gained a lot of attention in the press recently (http://www.guardian.co.uk/health/story/0,,1836032,00.html) and have had my in-box filled with questions not only about getting hold of the programme but also...'Does it work?'

To the first, I'm currently writing MELTDOWN into a new book with 20 different workouts for people of varying fitness and with different goals and need.

To the second, the answer is a definite 'Yes'.

As short as it sounds, 4 minutes CAN and DOES produce some amazing effects in strength, endurance, fat loss, flexibility and co-ordination. It really does work!

Look at the news reporter that I put through a single 4 minute protocol here: http://tvnz.co.nz/view/video_popup_windows_skin/834190

Now, I'd love to take full credit for this system but it was Prof. Tabata at the Tokyo Institute of Sport and Exercise who first developed it.

What I've done is added new exercises, new patterns (what I call matrix) and a seriously effective dietary programme to speed up the effects and make the most of your training. You'll also receive a full programme that develops through from a single 4 minute workout through to a full 30 minute 'mega-matrix' that will tax even the fittest of athletes.

It'll be here for Jan 1st, just in time to get rid of the Christmas blubber.

Keep your eyes peeled!

Energy and Persistence

"Energy and Persistence conquer All Things" - Benjamin Franklin
That quote really hits home today as I finally 'put to bed' several MAJOR goals that I've been working on over the last year. Goals that, at times, felt like they were never going to come true.
Some of my readers know that earlier this year, on the eve of publishing several books and delivering the biggest seminar of my life (and the biggest paycheque too), my car got broken into whilst I was paying for gas at a service station.
That wouldn't have been a problem if my laptop, hard-drive and backup discs hadn't been inside at the time but, as I was going to my publishers with several finished products, they were.
That little incident cost me over £50,000 in seminar refunds and several years of lost research.
What was even more damaging though, was what was really taken at the time.
All of those late nights when I was writing or researching...
All of those evenings when I ignored my family in order to do 'just one more page'....
All of those days when I had focused on things other than my lovely family...
That's what got to me most.
Now, I tell you I was REALLY upset when the theft happened but my wife Deana, the love of my life, told me that very day "Start writing today".
So I did.
But the journey seemed long. REALLY long!
But I wrote.
...and wrote...
...and wrote.
And as I wrote, I kept in mind that Lao Tsu saying about the journey of a thousand miles.
Every day I was taking a single step (or at least I was trying to). Some days I took 10 steps and other days I went forward hardly at all, but I kept moving. Kept applying energy to my goals and maintained a dogged persistence to make them happen.
Today, that persistence has paid off.
Today, I'm ecstatic that I have finally finished writing my 'MAGIC 100' book and recording the audio programme that accompanies it.
Today, I wrote, produced and filmed my 'Mobility Matrix DVD' which has been on my mind for ages.
Today, I received the final instructions for channel four that my video 'The Michelle McManus Lifeplan' which I wrote and starred in alongside Michelle has been edited and approved for distribution on boxing day.
Today is a good day!
The reason I'm writing this up in my blog today is not to brag in any way but to remind any of you you may be on the edge of quitting and giving up on any of your dreams that energy and persistence will ALWAYS pay off in the end.
So, don't quit.
Don't give up.
Keep putting one foot in front of another and you WILL get what you want.
As Brian Tracy puts it, 'The best way to become unstoppable is to REFUSE TO STOP'.
To your success
Dax
P.S - The Magic 100 and the Movement Matrix will be on my site withinhe next few days...

Guinea pig updates

Wow!

The last couple of days at my studio have been absolutely mad!!

We've dealt with over 200 enquiries from people wanting to join the programme and have almost shosen our final 16 (it's a bit like pop-idol!).

Kevin Raison, my course director has really had his hands full with dealing with everyone so far, as well as, believe it or not, a few people who said that they weree willing to attend the course but....

They WOULD NOT be willing to give up wheat, dairy, caffeine, alcohol or sugar (though they would happily change to a healthy eating plan)

Thought that daily exercise sounded a bit obsessive and instead would consent to 'a couple of times a week' .

And will attend all sessions but might not be able to come to about 50% of them...

Hmmm...

People are strange arhey not?

This is a free weight management course that we're offering here and people want us to change it for THEM!!!

What do you think their chances are?

Anyway, we still have 3 places left so if you're interested then get your application into kevin by emailing info@daxmoy.co.uk

Want To Be A Fat Loss 'Guinea Pig'?

I'm currently looking for 16 suitable men and women to enter a 6 week trial of my newestweight management course.

This course will strip pounds of bodyfat, tone and firm muscle, make you stronger, more flexible and oh, so much fitter...and allin just 6 weeks!

Sounds like a bit of a 'sales job' right?

Like I'm trying to sell you into buying something you can't afford?

Nope!

In fact, it's the exact opposite.

We're looking for 16 people, men and women, to join the programmeand partake in our workshops, fitness classes, dietary programmesand lifestyle changes for an entire six weeks... For FREE!

Seriously, we're not looking for a single penny from any of our participants.

But...We ARE looking for SERIOUS participants!

What do I mean by serious?

Well, there will be 2 courses, one in the day and one in the evening. Whichever you choose you will be required to attend once a week for the entire six weeks.

You will also be required to attend AT LEAST one fitness class (this is free too) with us every week and commit to daily exercise at home.

You'll have to follow our elimination diet TO THE LETTER throughout the entire programme (you can look at this today by downloading it from www.daxmoy-pts.co.uk/elimination/) and also maintain a daily journal.

There's a little more to it, but not much...

Ultimately, we're looking for DOERS not TALKERS who have finally had enough of looking and feeling out of shape and who are finally ready to commit to getting things right.

Are you one of these people?

If you are and if you can commit to 6 weeks of workshops andclasses AND the other things mentioned above then you COULD qualifyfor a place.

But....Before you apply, you need to understand this;

The course is definitely FREE, there's no worries there, you won't pay a single penny. However, if you drop out of the programme (and that means drop out of following our advice too) then we'll chargeyou the full programme price of £500.

Now, some of you might be thinking 'I knew there was a catch' but there really isn't.

If selected you'll get the course for free as long as you finish it. If not (or if you're already worried aboutthe £500 you MIGHT have to pay) then this course is not for you anyway.

Ultimately, we're doing this without charge because we need data and feedback about how effective our new methods are (we kinda knowas this is the EXACT protocol I used to help Michelle McManus drop10 stones) and the only way we can do that is to have ourcandidates go the distance.

So, are you interested?

If so, we need to hear from you IMMEDIATELY.

I mean right away! Send me an email with a brief bio about you, what you've tried inthe past and why you'd be a good candidate.

Tomorrow, Kevin (my course director) will give you a call and ask you a few more questions to check if you're one of the people we're looking for (so don't forget to leave a contact number and best time to call).

He'll tell you more about days and times during the call and then invite you down to an orientation before the course starts (in the next 2 weeks)

I look forward to hearing from you

Dax

P.S - I'm already excited about what the next 6 weeks will bring!!
