I got a couple of emails yesterday asking me why sugar is banned n the elimination diet "after all" my questioners asked "a little of what you fancy can'yt be that bad... can it?"

Well, look, I like the occasional sweet as much as anyone else but there are a ton of good reasons why sugar needs to be reduced from our lives in general and cut out altogether during the elimination diet.

Nancy Appleton, author of 'Licking The Sugar Habit' points out 146 reasons to steer clear of the white stuff.

I'm back on the elimination diet! I feel rubbish after eating junk food at the weekend. No more wandering off the pathway.

Monday is gone and now Tuesday is almost over.. Monday was a normal day with food choices very ED friendly.
B: Gluten free waffle
L: shredded pork/corn tortilla
D: shrimp salad
S: fruit with yoghurt flavored with real vanilla a few drops.

Today was a travel day. 4 hr plane 2 hr time loss and an appt as soon as I got to my destination.
B: at the airport at 5:30 am steak and two eggs with potatoes
nothing until dinner except for an apple.
D: seared tuna, rice, & grilled veggies with a side salad. Tough to find ED friendly food in small towns in US. I asked the server to see if the cook would prepare me a meal from items off the menu. They were very accomodating.
Drank plenty of water.

By the time I got to eat dinner I would have settled for just about anything..feel good about staying true to the program. It is hard sometimes.
Tomorrow I work all day and then the flight home..4 hr flight and gain back my 2 hrs. Food will be interesting to say the least... I will do my best.
