The Lazy Persons Guide To Getting Into Great Shape On Vacation
(Yeah, I know, you're still at the office slaving away at your desk but bear with me, I'm painting a picture here!)
After all those weeks of cutting calories, depriving yourself of treats and regularly thrashing yourself about in the gym (You know, the usual pre-holiday fitness panic) you're finally able to get your kit off, soak up some rays and chill out on the beach.
After all, idleness and holidays go hand in hand don't they?
Or do they? Or, more to the point, should they?
It may or may not surprise to you to find out that, on average, holiday makers put on around 5-7lbs in weight during their two weeks away from home, a figure (excuse the pun) only normally beaten by Christmas!
Now, 7lbs may not sound like a lot but in reality it represents some 24,500 extra calories stored either through reduced activity or excess food consumption.
Just to clarify, that's the equivalent of about 10 days worth of calories above and beyond those needed to maintain your weight during your holiday. And guess what?
Nearly all of this is fat!!
So maybe a week of sun, sea and sloth isn't such a great idea after all. Not unless you actually enjoy laying down lard!
The funny thing is, it's so easy to avoid piling on the holiday pounds.
In fact, many people find that they actually come back from their holidays leaner, more toned and far healthier than when they went away just by taking advantage of the opportunity to be more active and try new, healthier foods.
I know what you're thinking "I'm on holiday to enjoy myself and relax NOT to put myself through some harsh diet and thrash myself everyday" and you're right, a holiday should offer the chance to rejuvenate and replenish your tired body.
That's exactly why you should consider being more active during your break.
You see, contrary to popular belief, total bed-rest (or sunbed rest) is actually BAD for you.
Lazing your days away leads to muscle wasting, reduced metabolism, increased fat storage and increased lethargy.
This is why we're often more tired upon return from our hols than before we went away, we're simply allowing our bodies to degrade through immobility.
As if we're not already immobile enough in our day-to-day lives!
Of course, this can easily be avoided by incorporating a little and often approach to activity during your holiday. Just follow the simple tips laid out below and you may even come back in better shape than when you started your hols.
1. Take a walk, run or go for a swim before breakfast. This is a great way to fire up your metabolism and burn off some extra calories before you put more food into your body, and a great opportunity to get your towel on a sunbed before anyone else!
2. Spend at least 10 mins out of every hour on your feet Come on, 10 minutes is hardly a hardship and you can use this time to walk along the beach and even-up your tan in those hard to reach bits or even to check out the talent further up the beach!
3. Spend at least 10 mins out of every hour in the water. Swim, snorkel, surf, kayak, paddle or whatever takes your fancy. Just get in the water and move!
I'm sensing some resistance. Still too much effort?
Well, for those of you determined to travel the world, meet interesting people and wave at them from the comfort of your sunbed (you lazy lot!) all's not lost. There may still be a way of keeping you from piling on the pounds.
Isometric contractions are the ideal lazy-persons workout as they require no movement. Not one bit.
Now I've got your attention haven't I?
To perform isometrics simply contract the target muscles between 75-100% of their maximum effort and hold this contraction for 20-30 seconds before relaxing and choosing another target.
For the chest: Push the palms of your hands together in a prayer-type position. Now push, crush and push some more with all your might.
For the shoulders: Clasp your hands together and attempt to pull them apart as hard as you can
For your abdominals: Lie on your back, knees bent and hand on thighs. With arms outstretched and elbows locked, attempt a crunch type movement (Against your locked arms you won't be able to get up).
For your thighs: Straighten your legs and contract and squeeze as hard as you can. Easy!
For your inner thighs: Legs straight and ankles together try to push each ankle through the other one (You may want to place a towel between your ankles). A similar action can be done with the knees.
For your hips: Cross your legs and feet and attempt to pull the feet apart.
There you have it. The ultimate lazy-persons workout with not a weight, band or exercise gizmo in sight.
But don't let its simplicity fool you, this workout can be amazingly effective at increasing muscular tone and strength Working this way you can perform an almost endless circuit of exercises as you work around the body without ever getting off of your sunbed. Not bad huh?
Seriously though, movement is where it's at. The body is quite simply a movement machine. It likes it, wants it and needs it to function optimally, and by incorporating movement into your holiday you'll look and feel far better because of it.
I'm not suggesting that your holiday has to be all action and adventure from start to finish or that fitness should dominate your thoughts in any way, simply that you take a little time every day to look after your body and give it what it needs.
After all, what's the point of half killing yourself to get in shape prior to your hols if you're going to trash it all and look fat and unfit on your return?
See you on the beach!

And check out the before and afters!
(Ann has a high profile job and would rather her identity remain private at this point)

Here's Ann's Story in its full enedited version...
In the past I’ve always managed my weight through short bursts of just being careful of what I eat, losing the few pounds I wanted to and then returning to my usual eating habits directly afterwards!
I've never really been one for dieting or eating healthily - I could easily substitute a cake or chocolate bar for a meal. The only time I really consciously followed any diet plan (a low fat one) was after having my second child and I piled on weight.
In my thirties I was happy to be distinctly average – a comfortable size 12 – 14, did very little exercise and just occasionally controlled my weight through eating carefully every so often. However, in my forties I have to say I’ve become much more body conscious – maybe because my kids are now 19 and 17 years old, and therefore as they become more independent I have more time to focus on me.
Since hitting 40 I've been really active - running regularly - and even doing a marathon when I was 44 - this meant that I could eat what I liked and kept my weight down. In the first year of running I managed to lose about 10 lbs – a real bonus! I was doing something I actually enjoyed – well, enjoy, is probably the wrong word – I endured running as the benefits was that I looked so much better and I still could eat whatever I wanted! Having a really sweet tooth, every time I had a coffee (about 8 cups a day), I also had biscuits or chocolate to go with them! Running also kept me fit enough to go surfing whenever I managed to get a break – something I love doing.
It has only been over the last 18 months that my weight has started to creep on - no matter how much exercise I did I could no longer control my weight. Any attempts to try and lose weight lasted two or three days before I would reward myself with something nice to eat for doing an extra long run or whatever. I think I really decided I needed to take serious action when I really struggled to pull on my wetsuit – I not only looked like a beached whale I also felt exhausted before I had a chance to drag my board to the sea! But that was in November and I had to get Christmas out of the way and all sorts of other excuses.
By January 2008 I had enough of not doing anything to help myself – I felt disheartened as I started to sort out all the clothes that no longer fit me – trying jeans on that fit you two years ago but you can’t pull on over your thighs is a singularly upsetting experience!
I then decided that I should give myself a chance of getting back into them rather than going out and buying new clothes in larger sizes. I needed to really look at my eating habits - I knew that committing to exercise wouldn't be a problem - I also knew committing to a healthy eating plan would be the hard bit for me. I went onto the internet and started to look at various plans - lots of promises of what a diet could do for you but seemed unbelievable - great idea to be able to lose weight and still eat whatever you wanted but you know it's a lie!
This programme appealed to me because it didn't pull any punches - you know it's going to be tough - it isn't like other diets where you are allowed a piece or chocolate, the odd glass or wine as a treat if you've been good - it's about having to mentally get yourself in the right space to be able to accept the challenge and be determined to go for it.
I discovered the Elimination Diet half way through January but decided not to start it till I felt 100% committed mentally to actually doing it - I really didn't want to fail.
The first week was tough - despite the preparation I still spent the first three days of the diet just looking in the fridge and thinking I had nothing I could eat. I think I lived on omellettes, yoghurt and fruit for a few days until I got my head around what I could or couldn't eat but after you see the results it becomes a lot easier. I got the cook book just to give me some ideas and then adapted some of them to my taste. The big plus of the programme was that I never felt hungry - I seem to be eating more than ever before!
There have been several highs for me: being able to see a difference in my shape and how my clothes fit – even in the first week, being able to pull down my jeans without unfastening them in the third week, being able to do the same in a brand new pair of jeans in the eighth week!
People noticing a difference in how you look even though they see you almost every day. Noticing that I actually have a waist and abs!
The lows, with hindsight have not been too bad but at the time they just felt awful – hankering after hot cross buns over Easter but not giving in.
Having to mentally wrestle with yourself on trying not to succumb and have a piece of chocolate when people around you are saying that ‘one piece won’t do you any harm!’
Going to restaurants and knowing you’re not going to have a glass of wine, no bread or a desert!
However, for me the hardest thing was ensuring that I drank water – to begin with the only way I could was to write everything down to ensure I drank my quota for the day. I think I was at my lowest point when I discovered how unhealthy hospitals are!
My husband was rushed into hospital and I spent a few days hanging around with none of the catering facilities having anything to eat that was remotely healthy looking! Some of the exercise sessions were more enjoyable than others – but at least they are varied and short! The best way of dealing with it was just to get on with it and don’t procrastinate! `- it was one of my goals to ensure I did every session - no matter how tired I was or how little time I had.
So what I have achieved in 90 days? Well, to be blunt a new body and the confidence of knowing that once I’ve set my mind on a goal I can achieve it! One of my goals was to look good in a bikini - who would of thought that at the age of 48 I can wear one without any overhang anywhere! When I started the programme I was 147 lbs after 90 days I'm 120 lbs and have dropped two dress sizes - I've never felt so fit and toned - I'm the weight now that I was when I was a teenager! "
Amazing huh?
What struck me most about Ann is that she reminded me of just about everyone I've ever worked with. Average genetics (like us all), time poor, struggling with fitting in 'real life' and still staying fit, toned and healthy. Yet here she was, for a full 90 days not allowing a single thing to put her off course or distract her from what she wanted.
And, of course, she got it!
Ann's a great ambassador for the program and she certainly deserves this trip of a lifetime as a reward for all her hard efforts don't you think? : )
Please join me in a round of congratulations to Ann!

Another new 4 minute workout
that summer is well and truly on the way and that the annual mad
rush to get in shape is about to begin in earnest.
Other than the first craziness of January when everyone rushes to
take out gym memberships (and quits them within 6 weeks!), these
next 2-3 months are, without a doubt, the busiest time of the year
for people in my profession.
Yet, just like with the January crowd, it doesn't take too long
before the reasons, justifications and downright excuses kick in
and people start seeking reasons to quit.
Now, there are tons and tons of reasons but, by far, the most
'popular' one is time.
It seems that people simply cannot fit everything they need to do
in life into a 24 hour period AND still find time to work out.
I sympathise. I really do.
I run 5 businesses and have a large family and, despite the fact
that I work in a fitness environment and it's my profession, I
still struggle to find time too.
That's why I'm always creating workout systems that can be done
fast (normally in less than 20 minutes) so that people can get in,
get out and still get results without having their programs take
over their lives.
The Look Great Naked Challenge is a great example of that. All the
workouts are 30 minutes or less with many being much, much faster.
And my soon to be released '4x4 Fatloss' program is even faster!
Just 16 minutes a day will provide all the fat burning and
body-sculpting results of the traditional hour-long workouts you've
become accustomed to.
In fact, you may have already tried some of them.(If not, look at previous posts on this blog and get to it!)
If not, here's another chance to experience one of my new 4 minute
workouts for yourself.
You can get more workouts just like this as part of my Look Great Naked Challenge for just £10 a week.
To your success

Check Out This! Amazing deal for those seeking fast fat loss
I'm really sorry, I don't know what I was thinking!
My good friend Craig Ballantyne told me about a week ago about his
the amazing sale he's having over at turbulencetraining.com where he's added 5 all-new reports into his best-selling Turbulence Training package, meaning that anyone who signs up before the offer period finishes tomorrow will get even greater results from his
program... and faster too!
I just looked at the reports myself and I must admit, they're really something.
But I fogot to tell my readers!
Oops, sorry!
I don't want you to miss out though, so I thought I'd take a minute right now to let you know all about it...
You've got:
==> A 4 Week fat burning meal planning report from Dr Chris Mohr
==> Bikini Ready Abs program from the 'Fit Yummy Mummy' herself, Holly Rigsby
==> Turbulence Training for Amazing Abs by Craig Ballantyne
==>The 'BIG 5' Fatloss Exercise circuit also by Craig
==> The Trouble spot Tune up by Joey Atlas
and... get this, there are TEN MORE amazing ebooks in the package
too!
Now, I don't normally promote other people's fatloss programs as,
to put it bluntly, I'm in that market too and it pulls customers
away from me, but Craig's package is simply too good to miss out on.
But here's the thing...
I really have left it quite late to tell you about this.
Craig's special promotion comes down tomorrow and after that,
whilst you'll still be able to buy his Turbulence Training program
online, you won't be able to get all the extra goodies he's laying
on for you right now.
So look, if you seriously want to get in great shape for the
summer, I suggest you at the very least check out what's on offer
and decide for yourself whether or not you think it'll help you.
Just pop on over to Turbulence Training and check out the
program... you'll be stunned by what he's giving away!

Try This New 4 Minute Workout If You're Serious About Getting Into Great Shape!
While we were there though, we did a ton of filming for my new 4x4 workout system that I'll be releasing in just a few weeks in time for the summer 'silly season' where everyone will be working their butts off (literally) to get in shape in time for their vacations.
I'm really excited by the 4x4 system as it has turned out to be one of the fastest fatloss programs I've ever created, with just 4 four-minute workouts a day providing results above and beyond the typical 'marathon' hour-plus workouts that most people are using.
In fact, during the one week that we were away, Deana dramatically changed shape, lost tons of fat and got really fit... in just 16 minutes a day!
It sounds impossible but really, the program is truly phenomenal.
To prove it, I'm adding one of the 'easy' workouts here for you to try.
It's just 4 minutes long and uses a simple 'Tabata' format that I call 'Meltdown Training'. This means that you perform 20 seconds of activity followed by 10 seconds of rest, back-to-back for 4 minutes.
Doesn't sound too bad, right?
Try it!
I think you'll be surprised. VERY surprised.
And imagine too that this 4 minute workout is just ONE of four that you'll be completing today, with each targetting a different area of the body.
Powerful stuff indeed!
Watch the video, try out the workout and then drop me a line here on the blog to let me know how you found it. (If you're really game, try four of these workouts today!)
But don't say I didn't warn you... It's tough stuff : )

Your 15 Minute A Day Beach Body Plan
April is here already!
Easter of over spring is... springing and winter is (allegedly) on the way out.
If you’re like most people you’re probably already picking out your holiday clothes and thinking ahead to when you can finally hit the beach, soak up some sun and get some well earned R and R.
But then it hits you. Sun, sea and sand all equal skimpy clothes and to make the most of those you’ve gotta have a body to go with them!
PANIC!!
Baring our all on holiday is often a terrifying prospect for many of us.
If you feel self-conscious about your hip, thighs, stomach or indeed anywhere then it’s likely that your holiday will be spent in a mild (sometimes not-so-mild) state of paranoia that can actually detract from your enjoyment of your time away from work.
Instead of relaxing and enjoying your freedom you’re doing the ‘does my bum look big in this?’ thing.
Does this sound familiar to you? If it does, you’re not alone. But what can you do about it?
Well, there are plenty of things that you can do if you’re willing to put forth a little effort over the coming weeks. No, strike that. You’ll have to put forward A LOT of effort if you’re going to pull this off in time.
[Hey, don’t blame me! It’s not my fault that you’ve overeaten and sat on your bum all winter!]
First of all, I want you to take out your diary.
Starting TODAY I want you to find at least 15 minutes EACH DAY where you’ll be able to carry out your conditioning programme. Actually make the effort to put this time into the diary just like you would for any other appointment. In fact, this is more important than any other appointment because it’s with yourself.
If you have a mobile phone with a reminder on it then programme your appointment there too. In fact, write this appointment down in as many places as you can so that you can’t accidentally-on-purpose forget to exercise.
I think you get the idea by now. We’re placing MASSIVE priority and importance upon these appointments. If we don’t, they simply won’t happen!
I can hear some of you saying ‘but I really don’t have the time to do this everyday!’ To that I say ‘Rubbish’.
If you can’t even find 15 minutes then you’re simply not trying! 15 minutes is the MINIMUM amount that you’ll need. Ideally it’ll be twice this amount.
Next, go to your food cupboard and get rid of all of the processed food that you’ve been storing up. If it’s got an ‘E’ or a number in the ingredients list it’s outta there.
(But you know this already because you're following the elimination diet right?)
From now until your hols you’ll be consuming only ‘real’ food. Any meat, any veg or any fruits as long as they aren’t preserved in any way.
Why? The preserving processes that are used on foods make them ‘anti-nutrients’ with many of them having similar properties to modern plastics. These foods wreak havoc on the digestive and immune systems and can lead to overeating and increased fat storage.
Cleaning up your diet, even without restricting your calorie intake is a fantastic way to change your appearance. After all, we’ve all heard the old adage ‘you are what you eat’ haven’t we?
And now for the actual workout.
I know what you’re thinking.
‘How can I possibly make a difference in just 15 minutes a day?’.
Sounds a bit like one of those dodgy infomercial promises doesn’t it? Well sure, if I were promising results without effort but that’s not the case here. In fact, you’re going to have to put forward LOTS of effort to make this work. We’re talking consistency AND intensity here, which is normally what’s missing in most people’s programmes.
[Note: I’m assuming that there are no orthopaedic or medical problems present. If there are then you should consult your primary healthcare provider or a certified personal trainer before commencing the programme]
Day One
Warm up with some brisk walking, stair climbing or skipping for about 3 mins.
Perform the following circuit for 20 seconds of each exercise with 10 seconds rest:
1. Squats
2. Shoulder Presses
3. Abdominal Curls
4. Lunges
5. Pushups (or kneeling variation)
6. Towel Rows
Squat Instruction Video
Abdominal Curls Instruction Video
Lunge Instruction Video
Pushup Instruction Video
Row Instruction Video
Repeat the circuit two to three times. (this is less than 10 minutes!)
Now, be sure to build up to this, so don’t go all out for the first couple of workouts. However, intensity is important so as soon as you feel able you should really start putting forward as much effort as you can into each 20 seconds.
At the end of the circuits, stretch out each muscle for about 30 seconds.
Day two
This is your CV day.
But it's not your 'typical' cardio training.
Instead of plodding away for 20-30 minutes in long, slow, boring cardio, I want you to choose any two or three activities from the list below and perform 2-3 minute ‘bursts’ of high effort. Rest for a minute or two in between and then move onto the next activity.
Power Walking
Running
Sprints
Stair Climbing
Cycling
Skipping
Martial arts punch and kick combinations
Rowing
Or any other CV activity that you may enjoy.
By the end you should be breathing heavily, you should be feeling fatigued and yes, you should be WANTING to stop.
If you feel that you could do it again then you've just not worked hard enough.
Now, I'm not saying that you should go for the old 'no pain, no gain' style of training but I AM saying that you should be breathless and a little uncomfortable in the lungs.
Why? Because this style of training will put a greater post exercise demand on your body than long, slow steady training and , as such, you'll burn more calories both during and after the session.
That's it!
Simply alternate these two days between now and your holiday. If you feel that you may be overtraining or not recovering then add a third day where you simply stretch out your tight or sore muscles to aid their recovery.
You may be thinking that this approach sounds too simple to yield any significant results but you’d be wrong. In fact, simplicity is the main reason that this approach works. And it really does work!
Give the programme a fair try and dedicate 15 minutes a day to these exercises and I guarantee you’ll be in far better shape for your holiday than you are right now.
The alternative of course, is to do nothing, hope for the best and spend your holiday worried about your wobbly bits.
The choice is yours and only you can make a difference so start now. Today!
See you on the beach!

YOU'VE GOT TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT
in a luxury hotel for 2 whole weeks and give you a 100% effective
blueprint for getting into the best shape of your life?
That's what I'm going to do for one of my Look Great Naked
Challenge participants when they sign up for the next challenge
before midnight tomorrow (friday 4th April).
==>http://www.lookgreatnakedchallenge.com
Since I first announced the Look Great Naked Challenge just
over a week ago announcing that I'd be footing the bill for a
luxury 2 week vacation to Thailand for the most improved
challenger, my inbox has been full of emails from people asking
"Is this for real?" and "What do I have to do to get onboard?"
To the first, the answer is YES!
It IS for real.
The person who makes the greatest impact upon their body
shape and size during the 90 day program will win the trip of
a lifetime as a reward for all their efforts.
==>http://www.lookgreatnakedchallenge.com
And, of course, I'll be making it really easy to get great results
by sending you daily emails, workout videos, audio downloads,
printable worksheets as well as nutritional and motivational
messages to keep you on track.
And remember, the training commitment is less than
30 minutes a day, all done from within your own home with little
or no equipment, yet the results you'll get will be out of all
proportion to the time you'll have to spend working on them.
Like Ann Komzolik:
"...in seven weeks I've lost 19 lbs and have dropped two
dress sizes - my waist is now 17cms smaller - I've never
felt so fit and toned - I'm the weight now that I was
when I was 18 "
Or Jill Coulson:
"....I've lost a total of 17.5 lbs and 7" from my waist..."
...and you could get this kind of result too... if you step up to
the challenge!
But look, your chance to enter the challenge and win the
competition ends tomorrow at midnight so you really need
to enter today. If you don't enter you simply can't win right?

Look the next 90 days of your life are going
to pass anyway, right?
They can pass with you taking action toward getting into the
best shape of your life and standing the chance to win a
trip of a lifetime or they can pass in the same way that you
passed the first 90 days of 2008.
I know which I'd choose! : )

Leading UK Personal Trainer Raises Bar On Fitness Industry With World's First 'Achieve Your Fat Loss Goals Or We Pay You' Promise
Fitness industry challenged to provide 'real results' as leading UK fitness expert offers world's first guaranteed results or receive double money back refund.
London, UK (PRWEB) January 26, 2008 -- Leading UK Fitness Expert, Dax Moy, today issued a challenge to gym chains and health clubs to provide 'real results' to their customers and clients or offer a full refund on memberships for those who fail to see a measurable return on the time, money and effort invested in memberships and fees.
In a dramatic break from fitness industry norms where money from memberships and personal training fees is routinely kept regardless of results attained, Moy has taken the bold step of announcing the world's first no-result, no-pay club model where members join in the certainty that results are never more than a maximum of 21 days away.
In fact, Moy has taken the concept a step further by adding greater incentive to both members and staff at his UK facilities by offering to pay all new members a penalty-fee if an appreciable fat loss goal is not reached by the 21 day deadline.
A full refund of double their fees if they're not a minimum of one clothing size smaller.
Moy, a regular guest expert on UK television and magazines said "With global obesity on the rise it's the job of every member of the health and fitness community to do all we can create effective strategies to help those who are seeking to lose weight, burn fat and look after their general health.
Simply setting up a gym with a bunch of shiny new gizmo's and gadgets and taking money from those who live and work nearby is not enough to make a difference. We've enough evidence of that. Right now there are more gyms, healthclubs and personal trainers on the planet than at any other time in history and yet obesity continues to rise in spite of this."
He continued "If the fitness industry truly wants to make a difference to those who really need help then it needs to start selling results, not just memberships. A guarantee is just the thing to inspire confidence in all those who believe that they're beyond help and will show the public at large that the industry cares as much about them as it does the revenues it creates."
Moy, whose studios in Central London and Hertfordshire service all manner of clientele from pop stars to polar explorers, actors to athletes, soldiers and stay-at-home-mum's as well as those with medical conditions and disabilities is currently the highest paid personal trainer in the UK and attributes much of his success to his results-only approach.
"We often hear that people don't have enough money to become healthy but that's simply not true in most cases. People have money but they're afraid of spending it on their health and fitness because they're unsure of what their money will get them.
If the big players in the health and fitness industry were to offer a no-risk way of looking after their health gyms would be full all day long everyday and with the people who need it most, not just those who want to stare at their biceps for a couple of hours a week."
Asked if he believed anyone would take him up on the challenge, Moy said "I doubt it. 'Big Fitness' has got a pretty easy ride of it at the moment, making most of its money from those who don't even attend. This challenge would require them to actually provide a service to their customers rather than just a facility and I don't think most of them are ready for that."
With the fitness set to become the next trillion dollar industry, it will be interesting to see how it rises to Moy's challenge in the days ahead.

She Lost 19lbs and Nearly 7 inches from her waist in just 7 weeks!
Obviously, I could answer with my personal trainer head on but most people would think I was just exaggerating, so instead I thought I'd let you hear from one of my current challenge participants.
Read the email I received from Ann today after completing just 7
weeks of the Look Great Naked Challenge (she's got another 5 weeks
to go).
This is complete, unedited and 100% written by Ann.....
"Since hitting 40 I've been really active - running regularly - and even doing a marathon when I was 44 - this meant that I could eat
what I liked and kept my weight down. Having a really sweet tooth,
every time I had a coffee (about 8 cups a day), I also had biscuits
or chocolate to go with them!
It has only been over the last 18 months that my weight has started
to creep on - no matter how much exercise I did I could no longer
control my weight. Any attempts to try and lose weight lasted two
or three days before I would reward myself for doing an extra long
run or whatever.
I decided I needed to really look at my eating habits - I knew that
committing to exercise wouldn't be a problem - I also knew
committing to a healthy eating plan would be the hard bit for me.
This programme appealed to me because it didn't pull any punches -
you know it's going to be tough - it isn't like other diets where
you are allowed a piece or chocolate, the odd glass or wine as a
treat if you've been good - it's about having to mentally get
yourself in the right space to be able to accept the challenge and
be determined to go for it. The first week is tough but after you
see the results it becomes a lot easier. The big plus is that I'm
never hungry - I seem to be eating more than ever before!
When I started the programme I was 147 lbs after seven weeks I've
lost 19 lbs and have dropped two dress sizes - my waist is now
17cms smaller - I've never felt so fit and toned - I'm the weight
now that I was when I was 18 and have only got a few more pounds to
lose to reach my goal.
I would recommend this programme to anyone who wants to see results fast - having a clear structure of what to do and when really
helps.
Best wishes"
Ann Komzolik
Not bad huh?
I mean, 17cm is 6.7 inches and she's only just over half way
through the program.
There's a lot more to results come in the next few weeks and she's bound to drop another clothing size (maybe more) in that time.
It's like I've said all along.
This program truly is the real deal.
It gets results fast.
And I'm about to prove it all over again with the next Look Great Naked Challenge that's starting on friday 4th April.
That's next friday!
From that point, every day for 90 days my challenge participants will be guided, supported and have their butts kicked if necessary : ) toward the results
they've been promising themselves for ages.
And, of course, every person who joins the program is automatically in with a chance to win a luxury holiday to Thailand if they turn out to be the most improved person by day 90.
In fact, if you're reading this and you're interested in joining the challenge yourself, you're just 1 step away from the results that Ann and many others
have experienced.
Taking that step is simple.
Go to www.lookgreatnakedchallenge.com and sign up for the challenge. It's only £1 a day and is your surest bet for walking
onto the beach looking and feeling great this summer.
And it'll be a lot of fun too!
You know you want this... right? : )

Look Great Naked Challenge Starting April 4th
I'm receiving a stack of emails at the moment from people who're really inquisitive about the challenge, the format the support, the cost and, well, every conceivable question you could ask about the program : )
Now, obviously, it's important that these questions are answered, but I'm going to ask you be patient with me a I walk you through a program overview over the next few days rather than bombard you with a stack of material all at once.
Sound fair enough to you?
Good!
Now, to the first most popular question I'm getting asked at the moment:
What's the format of the challenge?
Well, it's a pretty simple format actually. I designed it that way so that it would be easy to follow. After all, if it were complicated you'd soon get confused, disheartened and fall off the wagon wouldn't you?
So, it's simple.
Basically, it works this way:
Every single day for 90 days you'll receive an email from me telling what's required of you for that day in terms of diet and exercise and the lifestyle changes you'll need to make in order to get the results you're hoping for.
In that email will be links to exercise videos that I've created specially for this program and detailing all of the finer points of the exercises I'm asking you to perform.
In addition to the follow-along videos, you'll receive printable documents detailing those exact same workouts but in written and pictorial form so that you can learn and use the routines more effectively.
In addition, I'll be sending you dietary advice (initially based onthe Elimination diet though later including several plateau-bustingtechniques that I use to help my 1:1 clients get results faster),nutritional 'tweaks' and motivational strategies to keep you focused and clear about what you're doing and why.
I'll also be sending you audio downloads to help you with otherlifestyle factors such as recovery, sleep and stress so that you'llbe able to get the most from your training and nutrition.
As you can see, you'll effectively be receiving personal training across the 90 days as I share with you the exact same principles and wokouts that I use with my very own clients but you'll have the benefit of being able to do them from your home anywhere in the world and at any time of day.
Best of all world's huh? : )
Stay tuned for tomorrow's message when I'll explain a little more about the actual workouts.
I think you'll be VERY surprised at what I've got in store for you: )
Speak soon!

P.S - Can't you just picture yourself lying there soaking up that wonderful Thai sunshine already?
I can! :)

How To Lose Tons Of Fat While Watching The TV
I've had nearly 500 new people join the elimination diet newsletter this week, taking my total readership to well over 24,000 people, indicating that not only is the diet itself growing in popularity but that people are (finally) starting to come out of their winter mode and starting to think about getting into shape for spring and summer.
About time too!
But whilst it's great that so many of you are looking to take action at the moment, I also wanted to remind you that getting great results is not just about diet.
Sure, that's an important part and certainly this diet is extremely effective at getting great results but, as you know, there's far more to dramatically changing your body in a short period of time.
For a start there's the dreaded E-word.
Exercise!
It's an important part of the equation and, whilst I'd love to tell you otherwise, you simply cannot get the results you're looking for without including a little of it every day.
It doesn't have to be a lot, it doesn't have to take all the time in the world, it just requires that you do it consistently and with the right intensity to get results.
And you don't need a lot of equipment, you don't need to join a gym and you don't even need to hire an expensive trainer like me.
You just have to get off your butt and do something.
That's how simple it is!
In fact, you don't even need to leave your living room or miss a single minute of TV.
Try this workout.
I call it the get your lazy butt off the couch workout : )
1. Pick 3 or 4 exercises, say, a pushup, a squat, and abdominal curl and a lunge (though it could be any others too)
2. Every time an advertisement comes on TV, get off of your couch, do 10 of each and then sit back down.
Workout over!
Don't tell me you can't do that?!
Think about it, an advertisement comes on every 15-20 mins (well, here in the UK anyway) so you'll have done 30-40 reps over the course of an hour.
That's probably a lot more than many of my readers are doing at the moment, doesn't cost a penny and takes no time out of your day whatsoever. I mean heck, you can even still watch your favorite TV show.
If you're a little fitter and you're worried that this won't provide enough of a challenge then try this instead:
1. Pick the same 3-4 exercises.
2. Whenever an advertisement comes on, get your butt off the couch, perform 10 of one, move to the next and the next, and the next and continue the cicuit until the adverts are finished (on average 3 mins).
I guaranteed you that you'll get an amazing workout if you do this just once. Do it throughout the evening and you'll be stunned at how much work you've done.
So, there you go, the ultimate lazy person's guide to working out.
Now what's your excuse? : )
To your Success!

Got Your Elimination Diet Cookbook Yet?
I agree.
In fact, I'm now kicking myself for not creating this 3 years ago!
Remember though, you don't HAVE to have the cookbook. There are literally thousands of food choices that are compatible with the diet but if you want a little help to keep boredom at bay, you'll certainly find it a great resource.
There are currently over 115 recipes in e-book format and another 10 being added each and every month for a year so there'll be 240 or so by the time I'm done and each of these updates will be sent to your inbox free every month.
So if you want to grab a copy then pop on over to http://www.daxmoy-pts.co.uk/eliminationcookbook.asp and grab it now so that you can make the most out of the diet in the weeks ahead.

10 Simple Truths About Looking And Feeling Great
During my career I have helped literally thousands of people to lose weight and keep it off. Often, against all the odds and in spite of politically correct nutritional dictates that would counter my recommendations, my clients have successfully reached their weight goals and lost bodyfat by following some simple yet powerful principles.
Foremost among these has been this one indisputable fact; We are all biochemically different beings, therefore there is no ONE dietary style that will work for everyone.
Therefore EVERY food that we eat will create a different reaction in EVERY one of us. For some people fruit lifts them up and makes them feel great, for others they feel dull and sluggish. Some are allergic to nuts whilst others aren’t.
No one food, no one diet can possibly meet the needs of all of us. In fact, it’s ridiculous to try!
Therefore, this article does not attempt to tell you what you should eat. Instead we’ll be focusing on 10 simple rules that apply across the board to all of us and, when followed, will virtually guarantee your success whether you are on a high protein, low fat or detox diet.
Without further ado;
Dax’s Rule Number 1:
If you own it, you’ll eat it.
Forget about putting all of the ‘bad’ food in the house out of sight; get it out of mind too by binning the lot! I know this may seem a little extreme but the truth is that anything that you have in your fridge or food cupboard WILL eventually find its way into your mouth.
If it’s tinned, processed, has ‘e’ numbers or unpronounceable words on it, it goes into the bin. Full stop, no ifs or buts!
Any and all processed foods fit this category. The simple rule is that anything that will last for more than 4 days without going bad should be avoided as ‘non-foods’ that will harm your health.
Dax’s Rule Number 2:
If it has wheat or gluten in it then it doesn’t go into you.
The plain and simple fact is that most of us have a hard time digesting wheat and gluten. The knock-on effect of this poor digestion is that we often inhibit the uptake of other important nutrients thus leaving us poorly nourished and often allergic or intolerant too.
The difficult thing about ridding wheat and gluten from your diet is that it is used in everything from bread, pasta, biscuits, cakes, breakfast cereals, sauces, the list goes on… Just make sure that you read the labels on the foods you are buying.
Dax’s Rule Number 3:
At least one third of your food should be uncooked.
Many, in fact nearly all, of the vital micronutrients found in our foods are destroyed by excessive exposure to heat during our cooking processes. This renders these foods calorie dense yet nutrient deficient which can lead to food cravings, eating binges and excessive weight gain along with numerous conditions associated with malnutrition.
Ensure that fresh, raw fruit and vegetables form a large part of your diet. This can be made easier by juicing.
Dax’s Rule Number 4:
Eat More Vegetables.
Unlike many fruits that are known to cause allergic responses or contribute to weight gain through their insulin-provoking effects, virtually ALL vegetables are good for you. (If you know that you are allergic to a certain vegetable OR that excessive intestinal gas is created by ingestion then obviously avoid them!)
Vegetables contain phytochemicals, which are powerful natural agents that promote health. They will also help to alkalinize your system, as most of us are far too acidic. Most people benefit more from increased vegetables than from extra vitamins. You will normally need a large amount of vegetables to optimize your body's pH acid/alkaline balance.
The recommendation is that you should try to consume 1lb of vegetables for every 50lbs of body weight. This will probably sound excessive in comparison to your current eating habits, but give it a try, you can always tailor it up or down!
Ideally raw, juiced or lightly steamed is best.
Dax’s Rule Number 5:
Limit or Stop ALL Sugar Intake
Gram per gram, sugar is probably one of the most dangerous substances on earth. Seriously! Sugar has been linked directly to many forms of cancer, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, eczema, immune system suppression, alcoholism, premature ageing, multiple sclerosis, obesity, osteoporosis, parkinsons disease…the list goes on!
Sugar in all of its forms creates havoc with your sensitivity to insulin and has a knock on effect throughout the entire endocrine (hormonal) system.
Avoid all White sugar, brown sugar, dextrose, maltose, fructose, glucose or in fact ANY ingredients that end in ‘ose’. They are all sugar.
You will also need to be careful with high glycemic index (GI) carbohydrates like:
White Rice
Pasta
Potatoes
Flour Products
Corn
Oats
Which are quickly converted into sugar in your body. Instead, opt for fibrous, starchy vegetables as your primary carbohydrate sources.
Note: If you DO consume high GI foodstuffs, ensure that you ALWAYS keep the portion sizes small and that they are ALWAYS accompanied by fat and protein. This will reduce the insulin provoking effects.
Dax’s Rule Number 6:
Consume only Organic and Free-range produce and meat products
From seed to storage our fruits and vegetables are sprayed with pesticides more than 10 times rendering them highly toxic anti-nutrients that have been identified as PROVEN carcinogenic agents of the highest order.
Think about it; insects are the hardiest species on the planet, capable of withstanding extremes of environment, toxicity and bacteria yet our chemicals are still strong enough to kill them off. Those chemicals are within our foods and eventually within us. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out the threat that this represents to us, the very END of the food chain.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS all non-organic agricultural produce, opting instead for organic and bio-dynamic food sources. These foods not only lack the toxic chemicals, they are also far higher in nutrients and taste fantastic too!
Similarly, avoid all non-organic meat, dairy and egg products as these foodstuffs are loaded with hormones and pro-hormones that effect the way our own bodies produce hormones. This results in endocrine imbalances, adrenal fatigue and myriad medical problems including MS, Parkinsons disease, ME, Diabetes and Cancer to name a few.
Eat only from free-range, organic and bio-dynamic meat and dairy which yield a far better nutrient profile yet minimise the hormonal imbalances caused by their non-organic counterparts.
Often, people complain about the prohibitive cost of eating organic and free-range produce. They’re right, it IS a more expensive way of eating… at first!
Yet, after just a short time of eating the nutrient-dense foodstuffs from the organic and free-range group, you’ll find that your food cravings reduce as your body starts to receive what it needs.
In fact, in just a short time, eating organic proves to be no more expensive than non-organic… you eat LESS food because it’s better quality!
And besides…
Even if it is a bit more expensive to eat organic, at least you won’t be consuming all of those chemicals that are PROVEN to make you ill!
Dax’s Rule Number 7:
Eat again no sooner than two hours and no longer than four hours
This is CRITICAL in supplying a steady flow of nutrients to your body in order maintain the balance of your internal environment. Eating regularly reduces the glucose and insulin fluctuations that lead to overeating and eventual fat gain. In addition, a steady supply of the right nutrients for your unique biochemistry will ensure that you not only maintain optimal weight but also optimal wellness and health too.
Dax’s Rule Number 8:
Drink plenty of clean, filtered water
With over 80% of the human body being made of water, it should come as no surprise to find that we need to maintain a good level of hydration in order to maintain optimal health.
Yet, if you closely examine the fluid intake of most individuals, you’ll find that most of us go through life severely dehydrated. We’ll drink tea, coffee, fizzy drinks and alcohol, but rarely will we take on clean, purified water!
The trouble is, all of these other drinks do not help with the hydration process. In fact, they serve as diuretics, causes us to process our precious internal water supplies even further.
When we become even 2-3% dehydrated we can suffer decreased health and performance. Stay dehydrated for long periods of time and you invite all types of medical problems including:
- Low back pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Ulcers
- Chronic fatigue
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Obesity
And other conditions too numerous to mention.
The key to staying healthy, fit and well is to ensure that adequate water enters our bodies on a regular basis. A good guide for how much you should drink is 1 litre for every 50lbs of bodyweight, so if you weigh 140lbs we’re talking 3litres. If you’re in hot climates or exercise a lot you’ll need to drink more.
It’s not just about quantity though. Another thing to take into account is the quality of the water you drink. Due to high levels of chemical pollutants within our water supply, you should ALWAYS filter your water prior to drinking it. A simple Brita type of filter does the job quite well, though if you want to go a step further you can filter straight off the tap.
If you’re drinking water on the go the try to buy your water in glass bottles. There is increasing evidence that plastic bottles begin to ‘leak’ their chemicals into their water after a while, especially if it’s been exposed to heat.
Dax’s Rule Number 9: Avoid or minimise alcohol
There’s no getting away from it alcohol is a toxin! Sure, it may provide a short-term lift or a high that we grow accustomed to but nevertheless, it damages your health just the same.
As a powerful sugar, alcohol encourages rapid fat gain through excessive insulin reactions as well as more directly as an appetite stimulant.
Why else do you think we’re offered our drinks when we first enter a restaurant? Because by the time we come to order we’ll be starving and order more!
If you must drink, do so occasionally, with moderation and NEVER on an empty stomach. ALWAYS consume fats and protein with alcohol and minimise carbohydrates.
Dax’s Rule Number 10: Get out and about!
We all know that we need to get off of our fat in order to get our fat off but how many of us realise that it’s VITAL to get ourselves outdoors too?
Even if we’re eating healthily, drinking fresh water and being active by regularly exercising at the gym we still need sunlight in order to stay healthy.
In fact, lack of full spectrum light had been implicated as a major contributing factor in many chronic problems such as:
- Chronic fatigue
- Depression
- Tooth decay
- Hair loss
- Stroke
- Alcoholism
As the major provider of vitamin D, natural light is Essential to many of our biochemical reactions. Without it, many of those reactions will simply not take place, or else their effects will be greatly reduced.
The answer?
Get outdoors at least 30-40 minutes a day. Take your lunch outside, read a book or go for a walk, just get out!
So there you have it. 10 simple steps that you can take today to make your diet more effective and your life more healthy.
Now, I’m not saying they’re all easy. As creatures of habit, it’ll take many of you every last ounce of discipline to establish these new rules into your life, but make no mistake, when you do you’ll be astounded at the results!

Another Look Great Naked Challenge Question Answered
Today, I wanted to answer another of the most common questions I'vebeen receiving about the Look Great Naked Challenge and, inparticular, the results you can expect from your 90 days of effort.
Now, as you can appreciate, the actual results that each individualattains during their time on the program may vary slightly but allin all, the results have been nothing short of spectacular withmost participants using the program getting more than theybargained from during their time on the challenge.
Not surprising when you think about it, after all, the programpretty much addresses every facet of fat loss and bodytransformation including mindset, nutrition, exercise and, ofcourse, lifestyle factors that most programs tend to ignore.
When you combine all of these different components, you get aprogram that not only impacts upon fat and weight loss butstrength, suppleness and general health too.
But look, rather than me blow my own trumpet about the program, whynot read a few of the comments of those who've gone before you?
(These are all unadulterated...including typo's)
"All my friends are commenting on how much better I look and Ireally feel more energised and much more confident - when I look atmy before pictures I cant believe how much my body has changed.
And I owe all this to you - yes I know that I committed to theexercise and the eating plan and that I did it - but you were theinspiration and the constant factor at the beginning when it wasdifficult to get going and remain committed.
Once the weight started coming off and the measurements were lessand less every week then it became easier and gained momentum -thank you for giving me a new lease on life."
Suzanne
"Hi,
in 12 days I have lost 10 pounds. This makes me 1 pound lighterthan I have been in 35 years. "
Marie
"I have to thank you for more than I can think of right now.
Thank You!
Talk about over-delivery! This test drive is amazing!
Unofficially I am at 183 and 9.6% (from a start of 189 at 19.7% ).I give the elimination diet much credit for this! I love the IMTand just did the Movement Matrix last night - Awesome!
Thank you for all of the inspiration and direction. I'm workingharder than ever in all aspects of my life. It's paying off, andagain you are responsible for the kick in my ass that's going totake me to the next level!"
Steve Rowe
Now, I'm not trying to create 'death by testimonial' for you herebut I wanted to give you a good idea of what's possible and, honestly, I haven't just handpicked the best ones. There are thosethat have achieved far more than these guys and, of course, thosewho haven't achieved quite so much, but the thing is, EVERYONE isachieving more and faster than most programs tend to deliver.
And it'll do the same for you.
Maybe more, in fact.
After all, you've got the added incentive of winning that Luxurytrip to Thailand haven't you?
That should spur you on a bit, right? : )

Look Great Naked Challenge Questions Part 3
As promised, I'm back to tell you a bit more about how the LookGreat Naked Challenge starting next Friday will work and how youmight be in with a chance to win that luxury holiday to Thailand.
Today, I wanted to answer another of the most common questions I'vebeen receiving.
"What equipment will I need?... And will it be expensive?"
Don't be.
The program can actually be done with no equipment whatsoever if you truly wish and you'll still get great results with just a few household items as resistance and, of coyurse, your own bodyweight.
However, as this is going to be a 90 day investment of your timeand effort, I'd highly recommend getting just a few bits of equipment to help you get even better results from the program.
The list is short, as you'll see, and will cost you very little.
1. A medicine ball - This is simply a weighted ball that you'll beusing during throughout the program during IMT.
Most untrained beginners start with just 3kg and even experienced exercisers will get a great workout with just 5kg when used in theformat I'll be teaching you.
Most sporting goods store sell these for around $20/£20 so they're not exactly going to break the bank.
2. A pair of adjustable dumbells - Ideally one of those sets that allow you to add weight as you get stronger throughout the program(and you WILL get stronger!). Cost? Around £15-20 (or dollars)You can get these from a sporting goods store too.
And that's it!
No fancy equipment, no gadgets, no gizmo's, nothing too expensiveat all.
And, in fact, you don't even have to buy this stuff at all if youREALLY don't want to.
I know what you're thinking... "Just how good can this program be if I don't have to buy a bunch of stuff for it?"
But that's just the fitness 'brainwashing' that most of us have been led to believe at work in your mind.
Good exercise is based upon good principles, not faddy bits of kit or shiny equipment.
Have no fear though, this program WILL deliver outstanding results BECAUSE of it's simplicity and, as long as you simply carry out theprogram the way I'll be describing in the videos, audios and workheets, you'll see an almost immediate change not only in how your body looks, but how it feels too.
So, if you're going to start the program next Friday and you're happy to purchase the items I've described, then get shopping : )That way you'll be ready to go as soon as we launch next week.
If not, no problem, just wait until next week and I'll explain the alternatives.
Til next time!
Dax
P.S - Tomorrow I'll explain a bit more about the results thatprevious and current challenge partipants are getting... you'll beso impressed!
P.P.S - If you've got friend and family who'd enjoy going throughthe chakllenge with you, send 'em over towww.lookgreatnakedchallenge.com/thailand.htm to sign up for theadvance notification list for themselves...
Look Great Naked Challenge Info Pt2
I'm back with another update on the Look Great Naked Challenge Starting Next Friday.
I've had quite a few of my readers ask me "How intensive is the program? I've been inactive for quite a while and don't really think I'm up to a 'hard-core' workout program. Will I be able to handle it?"
The simple answer is 'Yes!'
You see, the program has been created in such a way as to cater for everyone from the beginner, through the intermediate and even to a relativeley advance level of fitness.
In fact, I've had people who were running 30 miles a week and going to Body-Pump classes 3 times a week yet who had reached a plateu, start the program and immediately drop body fat with the workout and nutrition combination I teach during the program.
How do I accomplish this?
Well, it's simple really.
First, I have program participants exercise twice a day.
"Twice a day!?"
Don't panic, it's not as bad as it sounds and, certainly at the start, these training sessions will only take you around 10 minutes each and building up to around 15 minutes or so by the end of the program.
The beauty of this system is that it's fast and doesn't eat into your life too much but there's more to it than that. You see, 2 sessions a day keep your body at a higher metabolic rate and burn far more total calories and fat.
The workouts are really varied too and progress in both complexity and intensity as the program go on, but you'll never have to worry about any of this because you'll be guided as to the right techniques by the videos I'll be sending you as well as the worksheets that you'll be able to print off and follow.
In truth, much of the real 'magic' of the Look Great Naked Challenge is the simplicity, though that shouldn't be confused with being less effective than the more 'traditional' workout programs you may have seen in the past.
It's not.
It's just that, in this case at least, 'simple' means that it's not confusing, it doesn't take a lot of your time and that you'll only need the minimum of of equipment to get the most from it.
Simple or not, the progressive, consistent and varied nature of the workouts will have quite a dramatic effect during the over the course of the program which, after all, is the whole point! : )

Look Great Naked Challenge Info Part One
Just a quick update about the Look Great NakedChallenge that's starting next week.
I'm receiving a stack of emails at the moment from people who'rereally inquisitive about the challenge, the format the support, thecost and, well, every conceivable question you could ask about the program : )
I designed it that wayso that it would be easy to follow. After all, if it werecomplicated you'd soon get confused, disheartened and fall off the wagon wouldn't you?
So, it's simple.
Basically, it works this way:
Every single day for 90 days you'll receive an email from me telling what's required of you for that day in terms of diet and exercise and the lifestyle changes you'll need to make in order to get the results you're hoping for.
In that email will be links to exercise videos that I've createde specially for this program and detailing all of the finer pointsof the exercises I'm asking you to perform.
In addition to the follow-along videos, you'll receive printable documents detailing those exact same workouts but in written andpictorial form so that you can learn and use the routines moreeffectively.
As you can see, you'll effectively be receiving personal trainingacross the 90 days as I share with you the exact same principlesand wokouts that I use with my very own clients but you'll have the benefit of being able to do them from your home anywhere in the world and at any time of day.
Best of all world's huh? : )
Stay tuned for tomorrow's message when I'll explain a little more about the actual workouts.
I think you'll be VERY surprised at what I've got in store for you: )
Speak soon!

P.S - Can't you just picture yourself lying there soaking up thatwonderful Thai sunshine already?
I can! :)

How Do I stay Motivated?
I just don't care. I have to deal with Chronic Clinical Depression
and Situational Depression and am currently taking 4 different
drugs in order to try and stay on an even keel."
Staying motivated is a problem for many people who find that they start, then rapidly stop, practically every diet or exercise plan that they start.
Shame really, because motivation is a pretty simple thing to understand and use once it's explained properly.
It all comes down to 3 things.
1. Need - We're most motivated by things we NEED. For example, hen you need food, water or even air and thoose things are taken away from you, you'll do all you can to get 'em back.
The trouble is, we're rarely in situations where the need is high enough for us to take action.
Most of us have ample food and water and (hopefully) more than enough air to satisfy basic physiological needs and so we tend to use a different value system to drive us on...
2. Desire - Whilst our needs are few, our desires are practically unlimited and this is both a good and a bad thing for those of us struggling with motivation.
It's good because we can literally choose our goals from anything we want and spend our time hoping, wishing and dreaming for them to become a reality.
It's bad because, the more choices we feel are open to us, the less action we tend to take. Paralysis by analysis.
3. Consistency - An action performed over and over soon becomes habituated and because of this, it's far easier for us to perform. Vital with exercise programs and diets, you'll agree, but the trouble is, we rarely get to this as the usual plans are 'moderate' asking for only minor changes to your diet and allowing cheating as a matter of course.
Theis creates duality of habits where you're kind of stuck in limbo, not completely committed to the diet and exercise, but not quite off of it.
The best way to use these three steps is simple.
First, create a list of desires around your health and your physical appearance.
Make them specific and motivating enough that you feel 'ired up' about achieving them.
Second, pick one or two of them and turn them into needs by attaching strong values and visions to making them happen. Think of what it'll be like if you don't reach those goals, what you'll feel like if you have to go on living the way you are now.
Third, make the decision to stay with your plan until it's achieved. No if's, no but's. Your goal WILL be achieved because you're committed to it and that's that.
Fourth, make a list of your most common excuses for dropping out of your diet or exercise plan and answer them in advance whilst you're feeling motivated and upbeat. For example, if a common excuse is "I'm too tired to exercise" you might write 'It's only 10 minutes and I know I'll feel better once I've done it'
Fifth, commit to all or nothing.
No half measures, no cheat days, no 'well just this once' or 'a little won't hurt'. This is the slippery slope that steals your results, your enthusiasm and your happiness.
Stick with it 100% until the goal is achieved and THEN reward yourself. Don't reward 'bad' behaviour or you'll only get more.

How Important Is Calorie Counting In A Fat Loss Plan?
a case of calories in versus calories out or is there more to it?"
I'm going to commit nutritional blasphemy here and tell you that calories in vs. calories out is only a small and, relatively, unimportant part of the nutritional equation when it comes to fat loss.
In fact, I don't have ANY of the clients in my company count their calories yet they still manage to burn fat faster than most people.
You see, it's not the calories that truly matter in a diet. If they did, then I could eat 3000 calories a day of dougnuts and expect similar results to 3000 a day of lean chicken breast or even neat Vodka and, clearly, that's not the case at all.
In fact, what is much more important is the nutrient density of the foods we eat and the effect of those nutrients upon our own biochemistry (again, 3000 calories of vodka are going to do very different things to your body than 3000 calories of chicken and green veg aren't they?).
Now, for the naysayers out there who've used points-based diets that allow you 200 calories of chocolate if you wish and still lost weight, let me just clarify what's going on here...
Yes, you may well lose weight as the calorines in/out model has been shown to have a stronger correlation to WEIGHT loss but you're probably not losing much FAT. In fact, you're probably canibalising the most precious metabolic resource you have... muscle!
So...
Calorie control for weight loss? Maybe (Though I personally think not)
Calorie control for fat loss? Hell no!
The best fat loss programs are really simple.
Eat 'clean', train regularly and with as much intensity as you can tolerate, drink lots of water, get to bed by 10.
Easy!
DAX
Slow Metabolism?
"I have a very slow metabolism, I exercise for 2 hours a day,
1hour weight and 1 hour cardio, I each 75% clean and yet continue
to put on Fat. What is the best way to speed up a slow metabolism?"
Great question... and a very common one too!
It seems that many, many people who 'seem to be doing everything right' still struggle with losing any appreciable amount of bodyfat and even find themselves putting it on faster than they're able to take it off.
I think there are several main aspects to answering this.
First, I think you're probably exercising too much. 2 hours a day of training, albeit when it includes resistance training, is just too much for most people as they lack the correct nutritional and other lifestyle habits to maintain an anabolic environment (the ability to continue to maintain and grow muscle tissue) and so they end up in what's called a catabolic state.
This simply means that your body is breaking down faster than you can build it back up.
When this happens, the body breaks down muscle protein resulting in less muscle mass and slower metabolism.
To maintain an anabolic state you need to do 5 things.
1. Reduce the duration of your training - UP TO one hour is more than enough. In fact, you can get even better results if you drop your training plan to 30-40 minutes.
2. Increase your training intensity - Work harder, lift heavier, allow your self to reach breathlessness more often. The long, slow cardio approach is simply not the best way to go when it comes to fat loss and neither is the typical resistance training session where you do a set, rest for a couple of minutes and then do another.
Work faster.
Spend most of your session alternating on the move and training with higher intensity and you'll notice immediate results.
3. Eat More Protein - To remain in an anabolic state you need far more protein than most people are eating. Shoot for 3-4 servings of protein a day from eggs, fish and meat sources and you'll notice shaplier, firmer and leaner muscles in a very short period of time.
4. 75% Isn't good enough - I know most trainers say that moderation is best but in all honesty, moderation just doesn't cut it. You need to eat clean 100% of the time until you've seen the fat budge and then, and only then, can you afford to slacken off.
It's not what most people want to hear but it's the only 100% guaranteed to see consistent results... and it's not forever!
5. Sleep - If you want to see your fat deposits go down faster than my bank account at Christmas (try having 4 kids!) then get to bed by 10-10.30pm at the latest. Do this and you've got the body's own hormonal and metabolic systems working at full speed to shift the fat deposits you've accumulated.
Do it not and you're actively encouraging extra fat retention.

Fat Loss In Four Minutes??
Fast Fat Loss Workout!
Still on the subject of the cookbook, as I was making the sales of the book this week, I was getting quite a few emails (well over 200 in fact) from people who were asking me for a workout that would work to shift fat fast before the office part silly-season kicks in (seems that many people are worried about fitting into the little black dress or looking good in those tight-fitting dress pants).
Well, I'm not big on 'quick-fix' type of workouts as my systems are really about making lasting change, but so many of you asked and, seeing as you were also the people who'd just bought the cookbook, it seems rude not to oblige.
So here it is. I call it my 4x4 Workout (Actually, I'm just putting the finishing touches on my 4x4 DVD series) and it burns fat like nothing you've ever tried before.
Beware though... it's tough, so don't say I didn't warn you!
It works this way...
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 1
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 2
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 1
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 2
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 1
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 2
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 1
Rest 10 seconds
Performing 20 seconds of exercise 2
Rest 10 seconds
If your math is a little weak, that's just 4 minutes of exercise but boy will you feel it (and boy, will it burn some fat too!).
So here's how you use it and here's how you make it the most effective fat burning routine you've ever used.
Simply put together 4 of these 4 minute workouts a day for a total of 16 minutes of daily exercise.
That's it, you won't need more.
You can build your routine as you like. 2x 4 minutes in the morning and 2x4 in the evening.
All four workouts together (with rest between each 4 minute period) or 4 seperate 4 minute workouts throughout the day.
Put it together however you like.
The beauty of this is that you'll only ever be working out for 16 minutes a day, yet getting all the benefits of going to the gym for a full hour or more.
Don't believe me?
Give it a try for 1 week and use it alongside the elimination diet and I guarantee you'll see the fat start to melt off.
What exercises?
Any really, exercises that use more muscle work best for example...
I'll be sending you some more workout samples later in the week.
(Note: The 4x4 workout is just one part of the Look Great Naked Challenge )

Elimination Diet Cookbook Is A Hit!
Elimination Diet Cookbook A Hit!
It's true!
I uploaded the cookbook into cyberspace at 11:35pm on Tuesday night and when I woke up at 6.00 on Wednesday I'd already sold 250 and went on to sell another 500 during the rest of the week.
Not bad considering that it's not really on sale until Jan 1st and that I only sent 1 email to my private list. Seems that it was long overdue!
The funny thing is, it was the book I was never going to write, I'd assumed (mistakenly as it now transpires) that people would rather create their own meals but it seems that it's been the meal creation side of things that has caused the greatest stumbling block for most people who take on the diet.
Well, no more!
With over 100 recipes and 10 more being added to the book every month for a year, you'll NEVER run out of ideas again.
I'm not peddling it to you, but if you want to get a copy of the cookbook for £12.99 before it goes on sale on Jan 1 at £17.99 then pop on over tohttp://www.daxmoy-pts.co.uk/eliminationcookbook.asp and grab it now, but please don't tell too many people about it just yet as I'm only telling my private list and don't want it over-sold before it goes official on the 1st.

WATER OR COKE?
Just do the comparisons...
WATER
1. 75% of the UK population are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)
2. In 37% of all the UK population, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?
COKE
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Still want a coke?
